The new rifle law in Indiana has me pumped. I just recently bought a .300 Win mag. Just a quick review on what I got. I purchased a Thompson center venture and toped it with a Nikon pro-staff 4x12x40. I paired that with hornady interlock american whitetail edition bullets. I am shooting a 2 1/4 inch group at 300 yards. That unreal for a non modified rifle. I was very impressed with it. Can not wait to harvest a deer with it.
So every body has heard about this clown epidemic. I my opinion it is just a scheme to steal your attention and waste your time. I decided to take this picture to poke fun at the people that take the clown epidemic way to seriously. At least I thought it was funny.

The Weather Leads To Success

It has been a hot one in central Indiana this October. Temperatures for the past week have have been in the mid 80s. Any experienced deer hunters know this sucks! However, on October 22nd temperature dropped to 39 degrees. I got in my stand waiting for a wonderful morning and it happened. At 11:55 a doe walked in and I took her. While I was tracking her I found two of Indiana most delicious fall mushrooms! Chicken of the woods and Hen of the woods. It was a very successful and fun weekend.  The mushrooms are in front of my deer.

Since it was opening weekend to deer archery this weekend I have decided to post what I pack for a half day hunt. I have a backpack arrow quiver combo loaded with beman white outs tipped with rages. I carry a pair of latex gloves and a havalon knife incase I have to field dress a deer. I always pack a water to stay hydrated in the field. The next thing I pack is my release and rangefinder incase I have to make a shot. Even if it is not cold I always bring a warm hat an gloves just in case the weather takes a nasty turn. the goal is to pack light but well. Hope this helps you in your next outdoor adventure.
